„Tohle byla fotka, která mě nasměrovala na dráhu kariéry rock & rollového fotografa. Tuhle fotku Ace jsem pořídil 18. února 1977, když KISS hráli v Madison Square Garden během turné Rock and Roll Over. Na konci roku se KISS vrátili do New Yorku, aby odehráli tři vyprodané koncerty v Madison Square Garden. Vytiskl jsem pár set fotek z koncertu v MSG, který jsem nafotil dříve v roce, a vydal se na místo konání prvního koncertu. Počkal jsem, až dav vyjde po show, a pak jsem začal fotky prodávat. Policie mě zatkla za prodej mých fotek a strávil jsem noc ve vězení. Když mě pustili, strávil jsem dalších pár dní sestavováním portfolia své práce a pak jsem ho odnesl do kanceláří časopisu Circus na Manhattanu. Štěstí přálo, art director zrovna neměl deadline, a tak mě on i vydavatel Gerald Rothberg přivítali ve své kanceláři. Mé fotografie se jim líbily a řekli mi, ať zůstanu v kontaktu a dám jim vědět, na jaké koncerty budu fotit. O rok později jsem už pracoval na zakázku pro Circus.“ — Mark „WEISSGUY“ Weiss

The print quality on this MSG shot is unreal — you can make out the texture of Ace's spaceman costume and the sweat on his face. Hung it above my turntable and it instantly became the focal point of the room.

Bought this as a gift for my dad who saw them on that same tour, and the print quality holds up way better than I expected for a 1977 concert shot. Only gripe is the paper feels a bit thin, so frame it before it gets bent. Ace's makeup and the Les Paul come through sharp even at full size.

The photo has this gritty, live-energy feel that matches the story behind it—you can tell it was shot from the pit, not a glossy promo. Print quality on the matte paper is solid, though I wish the listing included the exact dimensions before I ordered. Still, a great piece for any KISS fan's wall.
