Die Rockgruppe Blondie war ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der New Yorker Kulturszene. Ich beschloss, im Chelsea Hotel zu fotografieren, da dies ein passender Kontext war. Debbie Harry kam verspätet und schlecht gelaunt an, und ich musste etwas ‚Gruppenintegrationsarbeit‘ leisten. Letztendlich fotografierten wir draußen auf Dächern und auf einem Balkon, von dem ich befürchtete, dass er jeden Moment einstürzen würde. Trotz des holprigen Anfangs wuchs Debbie über sich hinaus, und wir arbeiteten harmonisch zusammen und schufen einige sehr starke Bilder. -- Norman Seeff
