Le groupe de rock Blondie faisait partie intégrante de la scène culturelle new-yorkaise. J'ai décidé de photographier au Chelsea Hotel comme contexte approprié. Debbie Harry est arrivée en retard, de mauvaise humeur, et je me suis retrouvé à devoir faire un travail d'intégration du groupe. Finalement, nous avons fini par photographier à l'extérieur, sur les toits et sur un balcon dont je craignais qu'il ne s'effondre à tout moment. Malgré ce début difficile, Debbie a su se montrer à la hauteur et nous avons fini par travailler en harmonie, créant des images très fortes. -- Norman Seeff

The Chelsea Hotel backdrop really sells the whole scene — you can almost feel the dusty hallway and that late-arrival tension in Debbie’s pose. Print quality is sharp, and the blacks hold up nicely under light. Definitely a conversation piece in my living room.
