"Questa è la prima fotografia del primo servizio di Vogue America con abiti Givenchy, scattata nel nostro soggiorno, un ex fienile nel Connecticut. Bettina indossa un abito verde-azzurro (sembra quasi il colore del mare), svolazzante, tempestato di paillettes e perline, ricamato dalle migliori mani di Parigi. È un'arte, sapete. C'erano forse tre case che facevano paillettes e perline per l'alta moda. Purtroppo, era un'arte morente allora e ora è rimasta solo una casa. Il coprispalle sembra il copricapo delle suore della carità. Givenchy lo aveva trasformato in un top.
