Toen KISS voor het eerst mijn studio binnenkwam, was ik verbijsterd. Wat doen volwassenen zich zo verkleden? Dat kwam ik al snel te weten. Ze hadden een bijna griezelig vermogen om te interacteren en te improviseren zonder dat hun ideeën opraakten.

Het deed me denken aan Kabuki-theater en dus besloot ik hun album Hotter than Hell artistiek te leiden in een Japans thema.
