I photographed Linda Ronstadt’s Old Grey Whistle Test live broadcast at the New Victoria Theatre, London on November 1st, 1976, working with the Whistle Test production team.I spent the entire concert standing in front of her with my cameras. Linda seemed to be staring at me most of the time. I was twenty five and very shy and she was extraordinarily beautiful.
The black-and-white print pulls you right into that November night—you can almost hear the crowd between songs. The detail in her expression is sharp, even this many years later, like the camera was just a few feet away.
The grain and stage lighting in this print really pull you into that live broadcast moment, it feels like you're standing in the theatre. Took a few days to ship, but the archival quality paper makes it worth the wait for any Ronstadt fan.
The shot captures her mid-performance with that raw, live-TV energy, and the black-and-white print has a nice archival feel to it. Only wish the listing included a bit more detail on the exact stage moment, but the photo itself is a solid piece for any Ronstadt fan.
