Selects, Series of 2, 1964 | 1965

Following his celebrated “Year And A Day” documenting Bob Dylan, photographer Daniel Kramer carefully edited his archive into a select group of 5 × 7 inch vintage prints. Rather than traditional contact sheets, these were fully realized photographs—images Kramer personally chose, printed, and carried with him throughout his career when presenting his work to galleries, collectors, publishers, and curators.

Each print represents Kramer’s own assessment of his best work. Individually selected, signed, and stamped on the verso, these photographs served as his personal portfolio for decades. Subtle signs of handling and age speak to their remarkable history, bearing witness to the years Kramer spent sharing them from hand to hand.

Today, these prints remain exactly as Kramer used them: authentic vintage objects from the photographer’s archive, available exclusively through the Daniel Kramer Archive. Each is a unique, one-to-one artifact that embodies both the image itself and the photographer’s direct relationship to his life's work.
