Rockgruppen Blondie var en självklar del av New Yorks kulturliv. Jag bestämde mig för att fotografera på Chelsea Hotel som en passande miljö. Debbie Harry anlände sent och var på dåligt humör, och jag fick lägga tid på att skapa gruppkänsla. Till slut hamnade vi utomhus på tak och på en balkong som jag var orolig skulle rasa när som helst. Trots den tuffa starten reste sig Debbie och vi lyckades till slut arbeta harmoniskt tillsammans och skapa mycket starka bilder. -- Norman Seeff

The Chelsea Hotel backdrop really sells the whole scene — you can almost feel the dusty hallway and that late-arrival tension in Debbie’s pose. Print quality is sharp, and the blacks hold up nicely under light. Definitely a conversation piece in my living room.
