De rockgroep Blondie was een essentieel onderdeel van de culturele scene van New York. Ik besloot om in het Chelsea Hotel te fotograferen als passende context. Debbie Harry arriveerde laat en in een slechte bui, en ik moest wat 'groepsintegratiewerk' doen. Uiteindelijk fotografeerden we buiten op daken en op een balkon waarvan ik vreesde dat het elk moment zou instorten. Ondanks het moeizame begin kwam Debbie boven zichzelf uit en werkten we uiteindelijk harmonieus samen, wat resulteerde in zeer sterke beelden. -- Norman Seeff
